Alabama Chief Justice hopeful Bryan Taylor is continuing his call for a public debate against his “woke” opponent, Supreme Court Justice Sarah Stewart.

Taylor and Stewart are running for the position since current Chief Justice Tom Parker is age-restricted from seeking reelection.

Now a practicing attorney, Taylor is a former state senator from Prattville and former legal advisor to Govs. Bob Riley and Kay Ivey.

Stewart is an associate justice on the Supreme Court. Her seat is up for reelection this year. Her run for chief justice means she will either win the seat or leave the Supreme Court entirely.

Taylor has frequently criticized Stewart, calling her a RINO (Republican In Name Only) and slamming her Supreme Court voting record as being “too liberal for Alabama.”
